How to Read the Bible: History, Prophecy, Literature--Why Modern Readers Need to Know the Difference and What It Means for Faith TodayMcKenzie argues that to comprehend the Bible we must grasp the intentions of the biblical authors themselves what sort of texts they thought they were writing and how they would have been understood by their intended audience. McKenzie argues that to comprehend the Bible we must grasp the intentions of the biblical authors themselves--what sort of texts they thought they were writing and how they would have been understood by their intended audience. In short, we must recognize the genres to which these texts belong. McKenzie examines several genres that are typically misunderstood, offering careful readings of specific texts to show how the confusion arises, and how knowing the genre produces a correct reading. The book of Jonah, for example, offers many clues that it is meant as a humorous satire, not a straight-faced historical account of a man who was swallowed by a fish. Likewise, McKenzie explains that the very names "Adam" and "Eve" tell us that these are not historical characters, but figures who symbolize human origins ("Adam" means man, "Eve" is related to the word for life ). Similarly, the authors of apocalyptic texts--including the Book of Revelation--were writing allegories of events that were happening in their own time. Not for a moment could they imagine that centuries afterwards, readers would be poring over their works for clues to the date of the Second Coming of Christ, or when and how the world would end. For anyone who takes reading the Bible seriously and who wants to get it right, this book will be both heartening and enlightening.Binding Type: Paperback

Cute and Durable
Color: Them Apples, Color: Them Apples
I have purchased several Barkbox brand toys for my dog. “Them Apples” may be the cutest of them all. I am impressed at how well-made and designed this toy is. There is a large squeaker at the base of the tree and the rest of the tree has crinkle sound. My dog enjoys playing with the tree as much as he does playing with the apples. The apples are also well made and not flimsy like so many other hide & seek toys. The apples also have squeakers in them. My dog has had this toy for a couple of months now, and it’s still in good shape. I will definitely repurchase if this one ever wears out. Good value for the price.

Super cute and my dog is obsessed!
Color: Donuts, Color: Donuts
This is my crazy lil rascals first toy! She loves her donuts so much, they are pretty sturdy, she did manage to chew a corner off the box but that's expected.
She loves the crinkles and taking everything out!
My only problem is that it is a bit hard to close with the donuts in there, luckily she always loses one under the couch anyways 🤣
They are super easy to just carry in a purse if you are taking your dog with you and easily washable in the washing machine!
The material is super soft and crinkly and all of the donuts have different textures along with squeakers!
It is a bit small, so I attached a photo! I got her another one that is bigger recently, it's animal crackers and she is OBSESSED
100/10, always choosing bark for my pups

Boredom Buster!
Color: Drool Ranch Chips
I have a 46lb GSP and she loves little toys. These are perfect for her and she really loves the crinkle noise of the bag. These are big enough where I don’t have to worry about her choking on them. We have purchased multiple toys from Bark Box and they have all been quality toys and have survived a very active GSP gal.

My dogs are obsessed with these donuts
Color: Donuts
I got this for my 2 year old terrier for Valentine’s Day and it ended up being a huge hit in our house. She’s small and loves running around chasing squeaky toys, and the donut toys are the perfect size for her to carry, toss, and sprint after.
For some reason the donuts are absolutely irresistible to the dogs. Not only does my terrier love them, but my 9 and 10 year old dogs, who are normally couch potatoes and usually ignore the mountain of toys we have, became obsessed with them too. They were stealing the donuts from each other and running around like puppies again.
The little box makes it fun to hide the donuts back inside so the dogs can pull them out, which adds another layer of play. It’s adorable, well made, and shockingly none of them have destroyed the donuts yet, which is usually what happens to most toys in our house. It is one of the few toys that has actually kept all of my dogs interested. Definitely one of the best toys we have bought.
