Set during the T'ang dynasty, they feature Judge Dee, a brilliant and cultured Confucian magistrate disdainful of personal luxury and corruption, who cleverly selects allies to help him navigate the royal courts, politics, and ethnic tensions in imperial China. Robert van Gulik modeled Judge Dee on a magistrate of that name who lived in the seventh century, and he drew on stories and literary conventions of Chinese mystery writing dating back to the Sung dynasty to construct his ingenious plots. Murder in Canton takes place in the year 680, as Judge Dee, recently promoted to lord chief justice, is sent incognito to Canton to investigate the disappearance of a court censor. With the help of his trusted lieutenants Chiao Tai and Tao Gan, and that of a clever blind girl who collects crickets, Dee solves a complex puzzle of political intrigue and murder through the three separate subplots the vanished censor, the Smaragdine dancer, and the Golden Bell. “Bought this for my dog Loki and it was an instant hit. He usually loses interest in toys pretty quickly, but this ball kept him entertained way longer than expected. The lights and movement immediately grabbed his attention, and he spent a solid hour chasing, pawing, and carrying it around the house.
It’s durable enough for excited play, easy to charge/use, and even survived Loki’s dramatic ‘victory laps’ through the living room. Bonus: it tired him out enough for an actual nap afterward. Definitely worth it for high-energy dogs or curious pets.”

Great toy to occupy pet

This ball is super fast, and lasts very long on one charge. It really keeps my cat entertained, he’s just so curious about it. It’s easy to pick out dust any hair it might catch on, it’s rubber material is durable. It’s a stable toy since my cat likes to play roughly.

Great for Puppies!

Good for (non-destructive) small dogs

Bought for a small dog, would not recommend for a destructive chewer. After some initial hesitation this has become her favorite toy and keeps her entertained for a good while. The different settings provide some variety to how she can play with it. The battery only lasts about an hour, but it does charge quickly. As others have noted the string is garbage.
