Joseph Margulies traces the development of this detention policy from its ill-conceived creation in 2002 as the ideal interrogation chamber to its present form, where most prisoners are held without charges in a super-maximum security prison, even though the U.S. government has acknowledged that many have been cleared for release and most of the others are not even alleged to have committed a hostile act against the United States or its allies. Margulies, who was the lead attorney in the Supreme Court case Rasul v. Bush, writes that Guant namo and other secret CIA and Defense Department detention centers around the world have become prisons beyond the law, where the Administration claims the right to hold people indefinitely, incommunicado, and in solitary confinement without charges, access to counsel, and without benefit of the Geneva Conventions. I Smell Like a Gentleman Who Owns a Fireplace

The fragrance is warm, woody, and slightly sweet...that low amber note that smells expensive without trying to smell expensive, which, as we all know, is the actual expensive smell. My wife walked past me twenty minutes post-shower and said, unprompted, "You smell really good." I nodded like I had planned this.
The lather is genuinely rich; squeeze a modest amount and it blooms into a thick, creamy foam that covers everything efficiently. The texture is silky rather than watery, which matters more than people admit. Watery body washes feel like rinsing off with slightly scented regret. This one feels intentional. It cleans, and your skin actually feels clean afterward, not just rinsed. And the moisturizing? I wasn't expecting it. No greasy film, no lotion-begging dry patches by midday. Just quietly softer skin that doesn't make a big announcement about it.
Now, my honest gripe: the scent longevity has a ceiling. By mid-afternoon you're back to neutral. That's the gap between four stars and five for me. For daily freshness and an incredible morning window of smelling genuinely great, it absolutely delivers...but it won't carry you to bedtime.
