A biography of one of the Middle Ages' most controversial, reckless, and heroic figures

Born in France in the early thirteenth century to a crusading father of the same name, Simon de Montfort traveled to England in his adulthood, where he claimed the earldom of Leicester and ingratiated himself into King Henry III's inner circles. Initially a trusted advisor, Simon's good relationship with the king did not last. Frustrated by the increasing injustice meted out to his subjects, Simon would go on to rebel against him, marching on the king's hall at Westminster and leading England's first revolution, and imposing a parliamentary system on Henry's rule.

Montfort's life touched on nearly every notable event of the thirteenth century, from the holy wars being fought both abroad and closer to home, to the rebellion against the Plantagenets, to his campaigns against Jews in Leicester. The account of his death in battle-swinging his sword to the last-is one of the most graphic ever written of a medieval battlefield. Ambler provides a living portrait of the Middle Ages, brimming with illuminating insights into religion, society, the nobility, warfare, and daily life. In the words of bestselling historian Dan Jones, Ambler is "a dazzlingly talented historian" and her book on Simon de Montfort "marks the arrival of a formidably gifted historian."

**Stick It and Hang It – Garage Storage Made Easy**
Color: E-Blackpro 4
⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ These Lvoess magnetic hooks are little powerhouses—each one holds up to 20lbs and sticks like glue to metal surfaces. The anti-slip coating keeps things from sliding around, making them great for hanging ladders, brooms, or power tools in the garage. The black finish looks clean and tough. Setup takes two seconds—no drilling, no stress. At \$33 for four, they’re not the cheapest, but the strength and versatility make up for it. Great for turning garage chaos into organized bliss.

Pretty Nice
Color: E-Blackpro 4, Color: E-Blackpro 4
I’m not sure why the promotional photos show these hooks with the bent ends pointing down. To me that makes no sense, as it seems they are using them upside down. It makes more sense to me to have the bent ends point up, so the items being stored do not slide off. Additionally, the shorter bent hooks make no sent to have on the top, as they would limit how far back you could place a shovel or other tool. When using the hooks with the bent ends pointing up, you can place your lighter bulkier items on the long hooks, but then use the short hooks for those heavier items (if they fit), as that gets them closer to the magnets and will have less leverage to make the magnetic hooks fall free from the metal they are trying to be attracted to. In my example photos, you can see how the shorter hooks do not obstruct the shovels and other tools from being stored properly and the bent ends then also help to prevent the tools from sliding off the hook. Overall, I am very happy with the hooks. I’ve had a fondness for magnets since I was a kid, so I have a very realistic expectation of the limits of magnets and these magnetic hooks perform as well as I would expect.

Strong magnetic hook with only one small con
Color: E-Blackpro 4
I got the four-pack of magnetic hooks and the magnets are indeed strong. You have to reasonable with how much weight you hang off of these though! The longer hooks help with holding multiple items. I've used them for shovels and rakes and they hold up just fine. The only slight con is that I wish the ends of the hooks curled up instead of down to keep items from sliding off as safety precaution. You can just turn the hook upside down but then the shorter hooks are at the bottom. They work for what I need them and can hold power tools as well. The hooks are sturdy and the magnet power is impressive.
