On October 4th Erased Tapes present Handfuls of Night ' the highly anticipated follow-up to Penguin Cafe's much applauded 2017 album The Imperfect Sea 'inspired by the Antarctic, Arthur Jeffes' journey following in Scott's footsteps and our penguin friends that reside there. Using gut-stringed violins, viola, cello, bass, percussion, upright and grand pianos, synthesiser, harmonium and more, Arthur Jeffes and his cohorts have crafted a vivid series of panoramic sonic landscapes, that are as rich in cerebral poignancy as they are in emotional depth. Bookended by the atmospheric ambient piano pieces 'Winter Sun' and 'Midnight Sun', the album traverses glacial minimalism with ease, combining their signature contemporary classical panoramas, such as the melancholic yet upbeat lead track 'At the Top of the Hill, They Stood...' and the colossal cinematic piece 'Chapter', with the crystalline folktronica on 'Pythagorus on the Line Again' ' a re-visiting and continuation of the Penguin Cafe Orchestra's 1993 Union Cafe song on the principles of harmonics. Handfuls of Night began life after Greenpeace commissioned Jeffes to write four pieces of music corresponding to four breeds of penguins, to help raise awareness for the endangered Antarctic seas. A fundraising evening at Earth in Hackney followed, where Penguin Cafe premiered the four songs named after their feathered counterparts to a sold out audience; the rousing contemporary folk inflected 'Chinstrap', the mournful and minimalistic 'Adelie', stoic and rhythmic 'The Life of an Emperor' and the wistful, string-laden 'Gentoo Origin'. 1. Great snack but packaging could be better

The variety pack is perfect for kids’ lunches and road trips—lots of flavors to choose from and they’re always fresh and crunchy. The only downside is the small bags don’t always feel evenly filled, so you sometimes get more air than crackers. Still, a convenient and tasty snack that my family enjoys.

Snackageddon: 40 Bags of Crunchy Chaos (and I Regret Nothing)
Flavor Name: Fun Times Mix, Size: 40 Count (Pack of 1)
As a self-proclaimed snack tactician and veteran of many a vending machine war, I approached the Frito-Lay Fun Times Mix Variety Pack with the skepticism of a man who’s been burned by stale pretzels and betrayed by underfilled chip bags. But this? This was a crunchy revelation.
I bought this 40-pack for what I told myself was “emergency rations” during a long week of remote work. In reality, it became a full-blown snack safari. Each bag is a portal to a different salty universe—whether you're in the mood for the tangy rebellion of Doritos or the humble, dependable crunch of Lay’s Classic, this box delivers like a snack-themed Netflix binge.
Pros:
Variety that slaps: You get a solid mix—Doritos Nacho Cheese, Cheetos, Lay’s, Fritos, and more. No filler flavors that make you question your life choices.
Portion control-ish: Each bag is just enough to satisfy a craving without triggering existential guilt.
Perfect for bribery: Kids, coworkers, spouses—everyone has a favorite, and you now hold the power.
Freshness: Every bag was crisp, sealed tight, and tasted like it came straight from the snack gods’ pantry.
Value for money: At roughly 50 cents a bag, it beats the pants off gas station prices.
Cons:
Disappears mysteriously: I swear I only had three bags and now the box is empty. Either I blacked out in a snack frenzy or my family staged a coordinated chip heist.
