Fuzzed out psychedelica, the likes of which hasn't been heard since the heyday of real rock in the 70's, oozes from the amps and tears across the landscape like some kind of lawnmower on acid. The world starts to spin; everything goes black and then several shades of purple. All that, and then the songs kick in... Formed in 2006 from a melding of the then-defunct and highly regarded Swedish bands Half Man and Mothercake, Skanska Mord was the next logical step in the natural evolution of both bands. A crossroads where Jonsson, Berglin & Englund's more metal inclined Mothercake fell into the swampy blues rock of Bengtsson & Carlsson's Half Man (just imagine a perfect world where Seattle's Green River happened in reverse and you'll get the idea). Blended rhythm section rarely sound this in sync, but one can easily chalk that up to the common ground shared by all the members. First, the fact that they all come from the same place, Orkelljunga, a small village in the south of Sweden. In fact, the three older members (Jan Bengtsson, Patric Carlsson and Patrik Berglin) have been friends since their early teenage years. Bengtsson and Carlsson in particular have been playing together for 16 years in Half Man and before that for even more years in various constellations, they've been pretty much inseparable through both their musical careers. Secondly, is their common love for old 70's hard and heavy rock. A lot of inspiration has been collected through the years much like Bengtsson's and Carlsson's sizeable collections of vintage vinyl, amongst them a kings ransom of hard rock, progressive, blues and psychedelia. In some way this shared musical background has help give birth to a special sound, which is uniquely Orkelljungan.

A must read for Adult Survivors of childhood Emotional abuse
Format: Paperback
A definite must read especially if you have difficult family relationships. My childhood was very unhappy and confusing as I had a mother who is a borderline. My father, who seemed to be the anchor of reason in our family, recently passed causing some very difficult and seemingly unreasonable discussions. My mother was all over the place emotionally, causing me as an adult many sleepless nights from her verbal vomits. This book really gave me renewed courage and strength to find and hold my ground and feel right about setting boundaries for myself. As a survivor of a borderline, it is very difficult to have good healthy relationships with your own children because even years after you’ve left home and have your own family, those words “I hate you, I wish you’d never been born” can still come to haunt you and cause you to doubt yourself. I gave a copy of this book to my sisters. One read it, and both she and her husband devoured it. It really has helped us to separate ourselves from some of the family crazy, and be more Christ centered and ministry focused. Our mother was quite good at throwing “bible” at us and using it rather inappropriately to fit her agendas, always causing us to doubt our effectiveness in ministering your other individuals.

Most Helpful Book. Taught me a lot about myself too.
Format: Paperback
I purchased this book in an effort to make sense of a toxic family member. This book was so helpful for that but also helpful in teaching me how to respond and not become toxic myself.

Healthy
Format: Kindle
Informative and full of insight. It helped me to see there is a difference between a difficult person and a toxic one. Also the danger of labeling, name calling and toxicity.
