The Note family of Pianoville brings a new interactive approach to teaching the piano for the young beginner (5-10 years old) while still applying the traditional "middle C" method. Children's imaginations will run free while reading the story of each character or note and the connections among them through the storyline. The pictures bring in playfulness, but they also have an educational purpose: to help children to correlate fingers to each piano key. Each section of the book introduces new notes and musical concepts, as well offers to the student a few "do it yourself" theory work. As an interdisciplinary piano method book, story, picture and music all work together for pedagogic purposes. Written by Marcia Goulart, a primary school piano tutor who has been teaching the instrument for over 20 years first in Brazil then in the UK, the primarily goal to achieve when writing The Note Family of Pianoville was to aid piano tutors and very young children to have a more enjoyable and productive dynamic within the teaching-learning experience of the instrument from the very beginning.
