Iris germanica ‘Jump Start’ (Bearded Iris) is a vigorous, early-season reblooming iris prized for bringing color to the garden sooner than most tall bearded varieties—and then returning for a second show later in the year. Its elegant blooms feature soft lavender to light violet petals with delicate veining and a warm golden beard, creating a refined, classic iris look. Lightly fragrant and held on sturdy stems, the flowers make excellent cut arrangements. Prefers partial sun and rich, moist well-drained soils.  

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:  Low Maintenance.  Water regularly, then occasionally once established.  Can cut back any dying foliage after flowering.  Some major issues can be soft root, crown rot, and leaf spot. Watch for molting and remove any affected leaves.  Avoid overcrowding and too much shade to lessen the chance of these issues.
