Description

Rexco Partall Film #10 PVA (Polyvinyl Alcohol)Partall Film #10 is a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) water alcohol solution of water soluble, film forming materials. This parting film is particularly recommended as a parting agent for separation between polyester or epoxy resins and various mold surfaces. It is not recommended for use with resins containing water or giving off water during cure (i. e., phenolics) or with automotive finishes, as damage may occur. Partall Film #10 will not shrink and pull

Partall® Film #10 is a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) water/alcohol solution of water-soluble, film-forming materials. This parting film is particularly recommended as a parting agent for separation between polyester or epoxy resins and various mold surfaces. It is not recommended for use with resins containing water or giving off water during cure (i.e., phenolics) or with automotive finishes, as damage may occur.

Partall® Film #10 will not shrink and pull away from corners or curved surfaces. After resin has dried, the film parts easily from the mold and is readily dissolved from the molded parts with water. An occasional coating of Partall® Paste #2 is required on most mold surfaces before application of Partall® Film #10.

May be applied over gel coat as a surface cure agent.

PREPARATION OF MOLD SURFACE
Porous molds (i.e., plaster or wood) must first be sealed with lacquer or similar coating. A good surface on plaster may be obtained with automobile type primer-sealers and lacquers. Plaster molds must first be thoroughly dried.

Mold surfaces should be free of other parting agents, especially those containing silicone.

Cleaning with fine steel wool or sandpaper will not affect the high gloss obtained with Partall® Film #10. Deep scratches or pits will fill with solution, however, and increase drying time.

APPLICATION OF PARTALL® FILM #10
Apply Partall® Paste #2 according to instructions prior to use of parting film.

Partall® Film #10 is ready to use as received and should not be diluted. It is best applied to mold surface using a spray gun although it can be brushed on depending on desired post-production finish.

Best results are achieved with as fine a spray as possible. To achieve this result, use a small orifice in the gun, close the needle about halfway, and adjust the air pressure to 80 – 100 psi at the gun (setting may vary depending on equipment used). Normal spraying distance is from 12 - 18 inches - Partall® Film #10 should atomize prior to contact with mold surface.

Apply a thin mist coat first and allow to dry completely (approximately 10 - 15 minutes). Follow with two heavier flow coats, allowing each coat to dry completely before proceeding (approximately 30 - 45 minutes). A spray density that just allows the liquid to flow together and form a continuous film is ideal.

Dry film thickness must be at least 2 - 4 mils on new or reconditioned molds and 1 - 2 mils on seasoned molds (2 mils is the approximate thickness of an industrial-type trash bag). One gallon will cover about 400 square feet.

Drying time per coat is approximately 15 - 45 minutes (depending on thickness) with normal application. External factors such as humidity, proximity to sunlight, and the use of fans or heaters can cause drying time to vary. Film must be completely dry before proceeding with molding. Applying additional coats before a previous coat has dried thoroughly can compromise Partall® Film #10's ability to adequately protect mold surface and prevent part from sticking. Film should be very smooth and glossy when dry - a dull film may result from insufficient spray and may contain pinholes.

REMOVING PART FROM MOLD
The best procedure for separating the part from the mold depends on the size and shape of the part. In most cases the part can be lifted from the mold after loosening around the edges. A jet of air between the part and the mold at the edge is sometimes useful.

On large curved parts it may be necessary to first tap over the surface with a rubber mallet. A very strong blast of air (or a few squirts with a CO2 extinguisher) will free very rigid parts that cannot be flexed.

Partall® Film #10 will stay with the part and can be easily removed with water - spray gun can be cleaned with water also. Warm water is recommended although cold water is sufficient. Do not use solvents to remove Partall® Film #10 as they will not be able to dissolve film - use water only.

Partall® Film #10 is a water/alcohol-based polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) mold release agent that forms a barrier between parts and mold surfaces that are still curing (green or recently reconditioned molds can be reactive). Partall® Film #10, the original green parting film, is resistant to solvents and styrene yet is water soluble. Protects against mold hang ups with polyester and vinylester resins; also used with epoxy and urethane resins. PVA is most commonly applied over mold release wax although some users find success by adding wax over the PVA film (giving a second part cycle before replacing PVA.) Partall® Film #10 can also be used as a surface cure agent during gel coat repairs (locks out moisture in the air that inhibits resin cure). Now improved for easier lay out, Partall® Film #10 allows application by brush, roller, sponge or cloth as well as excellent spray characteristics. Available in green or clear (water-white). Packaged in 1-gallon, 5-gallon and 55-gallon container sizes.

Snagged a deal
Size: 7, Color: Redwood/Gum 10
I waited and waited to get these boots! I knew I was chancing it, but they went on sale, and I snagged them! I am a size 7, and they fit nicely with socks. a little loose, barefooted, but what psycho wears boots without socks? They are comfortable and really well-made.

Cute, comfortable waterproof boots (a little snug to put on)
Size: 7, Color: Velvet Tan/Gum 2
These are really cute Chelsea-style boots and feel very comfortable once they’re on. The waterproof material is great for wet weather and the sole feels sturdy with good traction. They look stylish enough to wear casually but still feel practical for rainy days. The only downside is they can be a little difficult to put on at first because the opening is somewhat snug, but once they’re on they fit well and feel supportive. Overall they’re a great waterproof boot and I’ve enjoyed wearing them.

Surprisingly great for my wide feet and high instep!
Size: 10.5, Color: Velvet Tan/Gum 2
So thrilled I took a chance on these. Finding boots is impossible for me. I have wide feet, a super high instep, a bunion on one foot, and I wear a hard to find size (10.5). I ordered the 10.5 and 11 in these expecting I might need to size up for width (if I could even get them on). It was a struggle getting the 10.5s on the first time, and once I did they were somewhat uncomfortable on the top of my left foot. But I read that they would relax so decided to give it a go because I need waterproof boots for an upcoming trip and the 11s felt too long. After two days of light wear, they are already breaking in and I have no more discomfort. Getting them on is already easier and they are plenty wide enough and very comfortable to walk in. These are true to size. Super happy and worth a day of mild discomfort to break them in!

Comfortable, sturdy, waterproof
Size: 9.5, Color: Black/Black
Loce, love, love these boots. Have walked ten miles with no foot pain around NYC. They go with everything and and are so comfortable. As they are waterproof/resistant, they get a little warm in high temps, but perfect three-season boots.

Super cute, comfortable, practical, love that they are slip on
Size: 10.5, Color: Tobacco/Black
I have worn these 2-3 times already. The first day was a school/work day so I was on my feet 9 hours and the only issue I had was with the side of the boot rubbing against my ankle. I just make sure I wear socks high enough to cover my ankles or jeans that go into the boots now for long wear days. Absolutely love them! They keep my feet dry in this snow( we live in Michigan). I had been looking for a pair like this for awhile now and was getting super frustrated that I couldn't find my size in any that I liked. I saw that they had these available in a 10.5 and I wear 11. I looked at the Sorel website reviews (since the amazon ones weren't super helpful on sizing) and they said that the boots ran big so I took a chance on the 10.5 fitting me. They fit perfect. I have long narrow feet but I could see where they would be tight or uncomfortable on someone with wider feet. I've been trying to find a pair for my mom now since she has boot envy.
