Novel meets short story in this unique book. It consists of ten chapters each relating a different tale. What unites them is that they all transpire in Palm Beach café society, as the various characters grapple with love, romance, fidelity, social aspiration, and acquisition of wealth, while they sip Martinis and bathe in the sun. In one, a self-made man curbs his spouse’s rapacious social climbing. In another, a character travels to Florida to reunite with a long-lost paramour, only to discover that he is now more attracted to her daughter.

I purchased these to wear working in a full service upscale restaurant and in less than two months have managed to have torn the material on the middle exterior section and the bottoms of the shoes are already completely worn down. Good design, but the durability needs to be improved if they’re to hold up for that industry.
