Nullability is important, collections are different, and classes are final default. Kotlin is more functional, but what does that mean, and how should it change the way that you program? And what about all that Java code that you still have to support? Your tour guides Duncan and Nat first made the trip in 2015, and they've since helped many teams and individuals follow in their footsteps. Travel with them as they break the route down into legs like Optional to Nullable, Beans to Values, and Open to Sealed Classes. Each explains a key concept and then shows how to refactor production Java to idiomatic Kotlin, gradually and safely, while maintaining interoperability.'margin: -4px 0px 0px; padding: 0px; font-family: "Amazon Ember", Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;'The resulting code is simpler, more expressive, and easier to change. the end of the journey, you'll be confident in refactoring Java to Kotlin, writing Kotlin from scratch, and managing a mixed language codebase as it evolves over time.'margin: -4px 0px 0px; padding: 0px; font-family: "Amazon Ember", Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;' style'box-sizing: border-box; padding: 0px 0px 4px; margin: 0px; text-rendering: optimizelegibility; font-weight: 700; font-size: 18px; line-height: 24px; color: rgb(15, 17, 17); font-family: "Amazon Ember", Arial, sans-serif;' About the Authorclass"a-section a-spacing-small a-padding-small" style'box-sizing: border-box; margin-bottom: 0px; color: rgb(15, 17, 17); font-family: "Amazon Ember", Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; padding: 6px 10px !important;'"box-sizing: border-box; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;"Duncan McGregor & Nat Pryce and both started programming in Java before its 1.0 release, and have 55 years of combined experience on both the JVM and other platforms. Can't wait for the next one!
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
My 9 year old loved the story and illustrations. She is hooked on this series and was thrilled to discover the graphic novel. She liked that there are new things to discover from the original Whatever After version of the story. Even though they are minor it was fun for her to catch the details.

So good!
Format: Paperback
This whole series of regular books is clever and wonderful; laugh out loud funny and inspiring. I only wish there were more graphic novels. This is a great place to start though.
