The Blackmagic Design Spares - Enclosure - ATEM T-Bar is a mechanical replacement assembly for the iconic manual transition fader found on Blackmagic’s professional ATEM control surfaces. In live production, the T-Bar is the most tactile and frequently used component, and as such, it is subject to the highest amount of physical wear, mechanical fatigue, and debris ingress.

Component Overview

Unlike a standard potentiometer, the ATEM T-Bar enclosure is a complex mechanical sub-assembly. It is designed to provide a smooth, weighted "throw" that allows a technical director to perform precise manual wipes and dissolves.

  • Mechanism: High-quality friction-damped slider assembly.

  • Housing: A dust-resistant enclosure that protects the optical or resistive sensors from the "spilled coffee and dust" environment of a production gallery.

  • Tactile Design: Engineered with specific resistance so that it does not move on its own due to gravity, but moves effortlessly under the operator's hand.

Compatible Hardware

This spare part is designed for Blackmagic’s full-sized hardware control surfaces, including:

  • ATEM 1 M/E Advanced Panel: The standard single-row professional panel.

  • ATEM 2 M/E and 4 M/E Advanced Panels: The larger multi-bus flagship panels.

  • Legacy ATEM 1 M/E & 2 M/E Production Panels: The older, classic silver-faced control surfaces.

When to Replace the T-Bar Enclosure

Because the T-Bar is a moving part, it eventually requires more than just a surface cleaning. You likely need this replacement if:

  • The "Jump": The transition on screen flickers or jumps mid-move, indicating the internal sensor has developed a "dead spot."

  • Mechanical Friction: The bar feels "gritty," is sticking, or has become too loose to hold its position.

  • Calibration Failure: The ATEM software consistently shows the fader as being at 99% or 1% even when pushed to the physical limit, and software calibration no longer fixes the offset.

  • Physical Damage: The internal stop-tabs have snapped, allowing the bar to move beyond its intended arc.

Key Features

  • Genuine OEM Assembly: Ensures the physical "throw" distance matches the software's expected range exactly.

  • Weighted Feel: Includes the factory-set friction damping that gives the ATEM panels their professional, heavy feel.

  • Plug-and-Play Wiring: Usually comes with the pre-attached wiring harness to connect to the panel's internal logic board, avoiding the need for complex soldering.

Technical Installation Note

Replacing a T-Bar is a mechanical surgery that requires careful attention to alignment.

  • Calibration is Mandatory: After installing a new T-Bar enclosure, you must perform a fader calibration via the ATEM Panel’s "Maintenance" menu. This teaches the software the exact electrical "Zero" and "Full" points of the new hardware.

  • Dust Shielding: Ensure the rubber or plastic dust skirt is properly seated during installation. If the skirt is bunched up, it will create uneven resistance and may eventually tear.

  • Handle Transfer: This spare part is often the internal enclosure and mechanism only. You will likely need to remove the machined metal "T" handle from your old unit (usually via a small hex/allen key) and transfer it to the new shaft.

  • Grounding: Ensure the metal frame of the T-Bar assembly is properly bonded to the panel chassis to prevent static discharge from interfering with the logic board during use.

Are you experiencing a physical "sticking" feeling with your current T-Bar, or is it purely an electrical issue where the transition isn't reaching 100%?

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5
