ABOUT THE ART
Created as a special promotional poster for Matt Gondek’s 'Cease & Desist' video game collaboration with Steam and released exclusively at DesignerCon 2025, this vibrant offset lithograph captures the artist’s unmistakable fusion of street art, pop culture parody, and neon-soaked chaos. Centered around Gondek’s signature 'Lil’ Shit' character, the composition explodes with a cast of bootleg-inspired cartoon, comic, and gaming figures rendered in the artist’s trademark palette of electric pinks, acid yellows, glowing blues, and deep blacks. The phrase “Enter Bootleg Cartoons, Comics, and Video Games. Beat the Shit out of Everyone” references the anarchic tone of the game itself, while the title 'Cease & Desist' humorously nods to the legal gray area that has long surrounded appropriation-based pop art and underground fan culture. Produced only for attendees of the event and now sold out, the poster was printed in an unknown edition on satin-finish poster stock and later hand-signed by Gondek in white paint pen across the lower center.
