Provides new perspectives on the violin's beloved concert repertoire, its diverse roles in indigenous musical traditions on four continents, and its metaphorical presence in visual arts and literature. With a colorful history that spans 450 years, the violin has proven to be one of the world's most important and versatile instruments. Addressed to performing musicians, serious concertgoers, and collectors of recordings, The Violin offers insightful, up-to-date essays on a wide range of topics. Essays discuss beloved masterpieces from the violin's solo repertoire, with individual chapters on the Italian Baroque, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and the violin concerto in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, as well as the evolution of performance styles and interpretation as documented in recordings. The volume also illustrates the broad cultural and geographic reach of the instrument, offering readers a taste of the traditional music of Argentina, Mexico, Norway, and India, in which the violin's participation is an essential and characteristic element. Other chapters are devoted to American fiddling andto the violin and violinists as metaphors in literature and the visual arts. CONTRIBUTORS: Chris Goertzen, Eitan Ornoy, Robert Riggs, Peter Walls, Peter Wollny. Musicologist and violinist Robert Riggs (PhD,Harvard University) chairs the Department of Music at the University of Mississippi and is the author of articles on Mozart as well as the monograph Leon Kirchner: Composer, Performer, and Teacher (URP 2010).

Comfortable and Classic Dress Shoes That Look Great All Day
Size: 12, Color: Cognac
These dress shoes have been a great addition to my wardrobe. Right out of the box, they felt comfortable thanks to the cushioned foam insole. I can wear them for long days at work or events without my feet feeling sore, which is something I really appreciate. The faux leather upper looks polished and well-made. The cap-toe design and subtle contrast stitching give the shoes a classic, professional appearance that pairs perfectly with dress pants or a suit. They have a clean, timeless style that never feels outdated. The fit is true to size, and the lace-up closure provides a secure and adjustable fit. I also like the stability of the stacked heel and the non-slip sole, which gives me confidence when walking on different surfaces. Overall, these shoes deliver both comfort and style. They look sharp, feel supportive, and hold up well with regular use. I am very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, classic dress shoes.

Denim feels thin but soft
Size: 32W x 32L, Color: All My Days Selvedge
The denim seems thinner than from years ago. 100% cotton feels soft. Fit me same as other stretchy 505 that are made with elastine. Waist size is fine. Haven't washed them yet. Yes, the price is high, but I like the 100% cotton and will likely buy more selvedge jeans.

100 cotton
Size: 33W x 32L, Color: Midnight Selvedge
These are great, just keep in mind that 100% cotton is not the same as 99 cotton 1 elastane, so size up if you tend to be in between mesures at waist.
