Great stories are nothing without great characters. Getting inside a character’s mind and heart is crucial to telling page-turning stories, but doing so requires an essential understanding of point-of-view. If you’ve ever struggled to figure out which character’s head you’re in, whether you can head hop, or if you should consider a more limited POV, this webinar is for you. You may think you know who is telling the story, but if you’re sloppy or unsure about your POV, the reader might disagree. Mastering POV makes for fluid storytelling and is a key strategy to developing strong characters.

This live webinar will demystify the key points-of-view, including first-person, third-person limited, omniscient and second-person, and explain how to identify when you’re in the flow or falling out of POV. It will also provide helpful character cues to demonstrate character in every scene and teach you how to identify POV slips.

Jordan Rosenfeld brings her experience as the author of six books on the craft of writing, and three novels, to show you how to write with assurance and flow into the perfect POV for your story and develop compelling characters along the way.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:

  • Clear understanding of each main POV type (1st, 3rd limited, omniscient and 2nd person)
  • How to identify POV slips through “perceptual words”
  • How to utilize POV to create “intimacy” with your characters
  • Character “cues” that allow you to demonstrate character to the reader
  • Why POV is crucial to character development
  • Understanding character motivation

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

  • Writers who struggle to grasp POV
  • Writers who slip in and out of multiple POVs
  • Writers who want to bring readers closer to their characters
  • Writers who find omniscient POV confusing
  • Writers who want to increase their story’s “immediacy”
  • New writers
  • Seasoned writers who have questions about POV
  • Writers who want to ensure readers love your characters

An excellent addition to the library of books about the life of Churchill.
Format: Hardcover
Excellent story of Churchill's years in the wilderness, warning of the growing threat of Nazi Germany from 1932 to the early of the war. Thoroughly researched and well written, given the complexities of what was going on contemporaneously.

Just like the PBS series....
Format: Hardcover
This book is a step, or two, deeper into the 'wilderness years' than the PBS series by the same name. But frankly, the series, available on YouTube, is a better buy (it's free) for the money and quite entertaining due to its great casting with folks like Robert Hardy, Sian Phillips, and Eric Porter. But, if you're a reader, this book is worth the effort and cost.

Sooooo cute!!!
Format: Hardcover
I really enjoyed this story!! It shows that children are capable of great ideas and should be listened to! Also, that prejudice comes from all angles and that people will go to any lengths to prove their point, even if they do something wrong and malicious to prove it. Great children’s book and a book adults could definitely learn a thing or two from!! It was also much longer than I thought it would be which was a very nice surprise. Looking forward to the sequels!
