The Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster is made with meticulous attention to detail, capturing the essence of Clapton's iconic sound and style and delivering a guitar that stands as a tribute to one of the most iconic guitarists in history.
In classic Strat style, the body of the Eric Clapton Strat is cut from lightweight alder, offering the "quack" synonymous with Strat tones. A single-ply white pickguard complements the simple overall aesthetic, paying homage to the classic Stratocaster design.
This Strat features a one-piece maple neck with a smooth satin polyurethane finish, offering a fast and comfortable playing experience. The Soft "V" profile of this neck is a customization requested by Clapton himself, in search of an electric guitar neck with a similar feel to that of his prized Martin acoustic. The neck features 22 vintage-style frets on a maple fingerboard, with classic Black Dot inlays.
The heart of the Clapton Strat lies under its hood: three Vintage Noiseless single coil Strat pickups that capture the essence of Clapton's signature tones, providing clarity and warmth. A modern five-way blade switch allows easy access to a range of pickup combinations. However, what sets this guitar apart is the special active 25dB midrange boost on one tone control. This unique feature injects an extra dose of thickness into the sound, reminiscent of the meatier tones associated with humbuckers. The second tone knob functions as a standard Fender TBX master tone control, offering a clean transition from bright and glossy to dark and shrouded by rolling off the highs.
This guitar is finished in a simple, understated Olympic White, a timeless design when combined with black dot inlays and a white pickguard- serving to compliment the guitar's simple nature and underline the fact that you can plug this guitar straight into an amp, and it will sound great. No promises that you'll sound as great as Eric himself, though.
